Moudon-Express

Description

Pictogramme Randonée
Discover the charm of the town of Moudon, its small green parks and its various bridges. This walk is ideal for families (with or without prams), people with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs. If you’re lucky, you may observe some beautiful birds swimming in the Broye.
The walk starts at the car park of the railway station in Moudon. Then follow the yellow "hiking trail" signs in direction of Chavannes-sur-Moudon. Follow the secondary road for a few metres, then take the bridge to cross the Broye. You’ll come to a nice picnic area. From there, you continue along the Promenade de la Rollaz, on the banks of the Broye. You first pass under a red brick railway bridge, then under the cantonal road bridge and the Douane bridge (Customs bridge). You then reach the Parc aux Biches (Deer Park).

This park is a must-see and very popular with children as it has many play facilities. Your walk ends by again crossing the Douane bridge to return to the station. If you would like to continue your walk, you can do so following the Chemin des Biches and the yellow signs to the Pont St-Eloi. From there you can cross the bridge and continue to follow the yellow signs to the church of St. Stephen. You will finish your walk by crossing the Place du Bicentenaire and returning to the car park of the station.
