Huguenot Trails
The trail "In the footsteps of the Huguenots and Vaudois of Piemont in the Vaud" retraces the exodus of the 200,000 Huguenots who fled France in 1685 following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes by Louis XIV.
Today, this Huguenot Trail pays tribute to these fugitives by proposing a route from Poët-Laval (Drôme - France) to Bad Karlshafen (Germany), passing through Switzerland and more precisely the Vaud region.
Montpreveyres - Moudon Station CFF

From "El Jire", continue through the forest to Écorcheboeuf then Carrouge, Vucherens, Syens. Take the old bridge over the brook "Le Carrouge" to reach the river Broye and Moudon through the old town.
Moudon Station CFF - Payerne Station CFF

From the station, follow the path along La Broye and then climb slightly to Curtilles. Pass the beautiful and venerable church of Curtilles to reach Lucens and its spectacular castle. Continue along the path along La Broye. Pass by the railway station in Henniez and cross Granges-Marnand to arrive in Payerne.
